Thanks for stopping by the Incurable Art Show, which is live in the Bobblefringe Gallery through Jan. 31, 2023. This free and public show is made of 131 graphic poems detailing the capture of Bilbao during the Spanish civil war, and I'll drop a new poem daily until the show's end.

The project took me 7 years to research, and involved a trip to Bilbao and many hours studying family histories and Spanish-language newspapers. In that time, I also learned graphic design and art skills, and finished the ModPo poetry class.

That newspaper print you see in the cover art is from an announcement my grandfather put in Euzkadi newspaper in June 1937, as he and my grandmother and the Basque government scrambled to leave the prized port city of Bilbao. Many of them got out ahead of the Italian army, fighting on behalf of Francisco Franco (and many did not).

The graphic poems illustrate what it's like living in a city under siege, being on the run, and finally in exile. These stories are, sadly, timeless.

Though the art show is free, I hope you'll support one of these 4 worthy causes; for the duration of this show, I'll donate 15% of all Bobblefringe proceeds to them.

Welcome, and I hope to see you again!
