7.12.22--11.11.22
The newspaper print you see is from an announcement my grandfather put in Euzkadi newspaper in June 1937, as he and my grandmother and the Basque government scrambled to leave the prized port city of Bilbao. Many of them got out ahead of the Italian army, who were fighting on behalf of Francisco Franco during the Spanish civil war.
Beginning July 12, I'll describe to you what it's like to live in a city under siege, to be on the run, and finally in exile. You'll see a new graphic poem daily in a free digital art exhibit I'm calling The Incurable Art Show. These stories are, sadly, timeless.
I look forward to seeing you there!
